What happened
NSCO Electric LTD is a Maple Ridge electrician. The owner posted the timeline on Local Search Forum on 5 April 2026. According to that thread:
- The listing was suspended on 5 January 2026, right after they changed the Google category from Electrical installation service to Engineering consultant (the owner is also an engineer).
- The profile locked. They could not change the category back.
- Two official appeals were denied — even with a trade ticket, business licences, company registration, insurance, a utility bill, and proof of address.
- After that they added a truck, truck lettering, garage-door signage, and documents in a Drive folder. Still denied.
Google never posted a public reason in the thread. The timing was the category edit. That is all we can honestly say.
What had to be fixed first
A Local Search Forum admin told them to fix the public facts before asking Google again:
- The website did not show where the business is or where it works. “Areas we cover” had town names and no BC or postal codes.
- The verification city was not on the site.
- For a trades service-area business with no shop counter, the street address should be hidden on the Google profile.
- Put the real trade category back. An electrician listing should not sit on “Engineering consultant” unless that is actually the business.
Those points match the shape of Google’s own rules: describe what the business is, hide a home address if you go to the customer, and do not open a second listing while an appeal is open.
What they changed, then what happened
They updated the site with BC and postal codes, put the city (and a full address) in the footer, set the primary category back to electrician work, and posted on the official Google Business Profile Community. A Product Expert forwarded the file. The listing came back on Maps with the correct category.
A Product Expert cannot flip the switch. They can sometimes get a human to look. Two denied form appeals plus the same website would likely have been a third denied form appeal.

Reinstatement means the listing is showing again. It is not a return to previous map rank. Back on Maps is not affiliated with Google. Nobody honest can promise the next file will follow this one.
