Diagnose the screen first

The appeals tool shows the restricted profile, the reason for the moderation action, and a link to the violated policy. Diagnose from that screen, not from a guess.

Official Fix a suspended or disabled profile (4569145).

• Account restriction. All profiles that account manages are suspended. You cannot create or claim others. Lift the account first at myaccount.google.com/restrictions, then appeal the profile. Official: 4569145, 13762416.
• Profile suspended or disabled. Appeals tool. Canada uses the same tool as the rest of the world. Official: 4569145, 13597551.
• Rejected edit, photo, or post. In Canada this is not the appeals tool. Use Contact us. Official: 13597551.
• Review-lock / fake engagement. Reviews unpublished, no new reviews, or a consumer warning. That is not always a Maps removal. Official: 14114287.
• Unverified. Content might not appear across Google. Verification is not an appeal. Official: 7107242, 13597551.
• Duplicate that will not show. Duplicate profiles “won’t show” on Search or Maps. Different tool than a suspend. Official: 12756178.

First appeal

1. 1. Fix the profile first

   Make the listing follow the guidelines before you appeal. Official: 4569145, 3038177.

2. 2. Account, then profile

   If the Google Account is restricted, appeal that first. Then the profile.

3. 3. Prepare files before Submit Appeal

   Google lists official business registration, a business licence, tax certificates, and utility bills (electricity, phone, water or cable, internet). Name and address on the docs must match the profile. Official: 4569145.

4. 4. Open the appeals tool

   Sign in as the account on the profile. Appeals tool. Read the reason and the policy link. Then Submit Appeal.

5. 5. Attach evidence in 60 minutes

   Official Once you open the evidence form, you must submit it within 60 minutes or it will not be attached. Prepare files before Submit Appeal. Official: 4569145, 13597551.

6. 6. Wait for one decision

   Google emails you. Appeal reviews can take up to 5 business days. That window is on Google Help 13597551. It is not a Back on Maps speed promise. Do not submit multiple appeals for the same issue before a decision. Do not create a second profile for the same business while the appeal is under review. Official: 13597551.

If the first appeal is Not Approved

Additional review is Official only after the first appeal is Not Approved, and only with evidence that was not in the first dump. Not a second copy of the same folder.

Form: Request additional review of a denied appeal. Google says you will not receive an email confirmation. There is no SLA. Official: 4569145.

Can’t be appealed

That is Google’s status language, not a Back on Maps slogan. Deleting the listing does not reset it. We may refuse the file.

Video verification is not this path

Video recording verification is how Google verifies some businesses. Live capture in the Business Profile app. It is not the reinstatement appeal. Official: 14271705, 7107242.

Canada rejected edits go to Contact us
